Position Title Physics Teacher - St. Anthony Catholic High School
Position Summary
St. Anthony Catholic High School, a division of the University of the Incarnate Word, seeks an Physics Teacher to begin August 1, 2016. St. Anthony Catholic High School is a private college preparatory Catholic co-ed high school of approximately 450 students. The teacher will report to the Principal and Vice-Principal of St. Anthony.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Applicants must have advanced understanding of key principles of teaching, learning and assessment.
Applicants must be able to plan and deliver detailed and well thought out lessons with an understanding of learners’ needs, utilizing an extensive range of teaching techniques.
Applicants must be able to create assessments that accurately measure students’ learning.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in Science or at least 24 credit hours in Science.
Required Work Experience
Minimum of two years teaching high school Science
Preferred Qualifications
AP certification
Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
Texas Teacher Certification
The Archdiocese of San Antonio requires non-certified teachers to have 12 hours of education. Faculty hired without the 12 hours are placed on a deficiency plan and must obtain the 12 hours within two (2) years. Texas certification must be completed within four (4) years.
Work Hours
Weekdays from 7:45am-3:45pm – occasional evenings and weekends.

Description of Job Duty
Physics teacher who will serve as an advisor to 15-17 students. Attend after school faculty meetings, evening parent meetings, monthly Community liturgies, class retreats and Open Houses as requested. Sponsor or coach at least one activity or sport. Support the mission of the school and the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word.
