ANTICIPATED DATE OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a one-year temporary faculty position, from September 20, 2016, to June 16, 2017.  The position carries a 40 to 42 credit (or its equivalent) course load, along with routine departmental and college-wide duties, for 170 instructional days. SALARY:  Salary is based on the negotiated faculty salary schedule, with initial placement at $40,560.
Essential Tasks:
SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaching:  Teach courses in lower-division physics courses to include General Physics, General Physics Prep and Physics for Non-Science Majors (teaching assignment may include evening/weekend, on-line, hybrid, and off-campus sections); advise students in developing and monitoring their academic plans. Service: Engage in department, division, and college initiatives; participate in shared governance; promote the college's values, and perform other contracted duties (for example, community outreach) as required. Professional development: Maintain competence in teaching and the discipline through professional development.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Fluency in an additional language(s); Significant experience working in multicultural/diverse environments.
